One of GeekCamp’s core passions is maintaining a unique community of guest bloggers. The vast majority of our members run a blog. Each blogger has their own unique style and twist. Together our community unites bloggers and their blogs into a network of people who guest post on each others blogs. Whether you’re a soccer mom, a technology geek, or a medical professional, there’s something here for you.
What is a guest blogger?
A guest blogger is someone who agrees to author an article or piece of content on your blog or site for free. The guest author holds copyright on the article, and the article is attributed to him. Its up to the guest blogger which sites to link within the guest post and the anchor text to use. However, it is ultimately up to the blog owner to approve or reject the guest post submission.
The process is very straightforward:
- The blog owner solicits guest posts.
- The author submits a post to the blog owner.
- The blog owner reviews the posts, makes minor edits, and then publishes the article.
What are the benefits?
As a blogger owner, unique content is not always an easy task. Sometimes just a new perspective on a subject is a treat. But ultimately, free, unique content for your blog.
For the author, it’s a chance to expand his reach to a bigger audience. Since the article will be linked to the authors blog or website, its a chance to gain new visitors and new links, and ultimately that means better SERPS, and more traffic to your website!
What’s the catch?
If you’re here to join a passionate blogging community who look to help each other, there are none. If you’re here looking to get a quick link to your site by copying content from other sites, then you’re at the wrong place.
